Visitors entry via Gate 2
The purpose of this event is threefold:
a) Encourage and give people to more chances to participate in Shiai
b) Encourage and give people more chances to shimpan
c) To bring clubs from NSW and Australia together for a friendly and social competition
The main competition will include teams of 3, which require at least 1 Kyu grade member per team. Matches will go for 3 minutes and hensho will be used in the case a winner is required. Each club can enter as many teams as they wish (this may change if enrollments exceed capacity). However each competitor must be in one team only and represent one club.
All Dan grades competing will be required to Shimpan on the day of competition. Our intention for this competition is to not only create another event in the calendar to create more chances to compete, but also more chances to shimpan and improve.
The following events have been scheduled on the day, but may change closer to the date:
TimeTable:
8.00am – Doors open
8.30am – Shinai weigh in
9.00am – Welcome, opening and warm ups
9.30am – Children (under 12) 'Balloon keiko'
10.00am – Teens (under 16) competition
10.30am – Main competition starts
12.30pm – BBQ for ALL competitors and spectators
2.00pm – Main competition resumes
5.00pm – Ceremony and close of competition
5.30pm – Close
You must ENROLL your teams of three by the 1st Feburary 2009: Please send the names and grades of competitors to jayson.chaplin@gmail.com
The competition entry fee is $30 dollars per person and $15 per child under 16. The comptetion fee is to be paid in cash on the day. Competition fee includes BBQ for you and your friends/family. You will have to organise your own travel and accomodation arangements, but please contact me if you require assistence or information.
